Academicians, muslim clerics, scientists, professionals, and businessmen turned up for the event at Umanath Bali’s J.S. Prasad auditorium. Maulana Saed-Ur-Rahman Azmi, Principal of Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema, was the chief guest.

“Education is a potent tool for nation-building and Aaghaz is doing just that by plugging school drop outs and shaping the careers of underprivileged Muslim children,” said Maulana Saed-Ur-Rahman Azmi.

US based Cancer Scientist and social activist Dr Razi Raziuddin described Sir Syed’s vision and urged the community to support educational projects. His presentation ‘Aligarh Movement & Cause of Indian Muslims Uplift: A Journey Continues’ emphasised on the need of activating a “latent and dormant”  Aligarh Movement Phase 2 to renergise the community.

Anis Ansari Vice Chancellor, Khwaja Moiunddin Chisti Urdu Farsi University, highlighted the importance of skilled-based education. Citing the example of Asma Husain Institute of Fashion Technology, which has helped several Muslim girls find rewarding jobs, Ansari offered free job-oriented training to girl students of Aaghaz wanting to pursue a career at the Institute run by his wife.
